The American population has become increasingly diverse, but diversity within the small business sector is occurring even faster pace. Today, minority-owned businesses make up 21% of the nation’s small businesses.
This article looks at Gazelle Index surveys results that examine differences between high-growth and low growth black firms. High-growth firms are those with a 20% or greater annual employment growth.
By incorporating minority businesses into job creation and economic recovery policies, the entire country would benefit – minority businesses hire a large share of their workforce from within minority workers.
